What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you submit any content via our Contact Us form, you will need to provide at least your first name and an e-mail address – this is so that we may respond to your enquiry. The e-mail address will not be stored on our website nor in our database and will only be used for the purposes of replying to your message. After your enquiry is dealt with, your e-mail address will be stored in the e-mail client of whomever responds to your message but will not be used outside of the context of that enquiry and once your enquiry is dealt with, the conversation will be deleted.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Analytics / Marketing
When someone visits dmlcars.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to track things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site and interactions with the site. This information is processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of visitors to our website.
This site also uses the Facebook Pixel code which measures your activity with the site. We do not have access to any personal information from this and we cannot identify you through this. We will not create any custom audiences from any details you have shared with us and as such Facebook is considered to be the Data Controller and Data Processor. Should you not wish Facebook to use this information to provide you with a customised advertising experience (and thus not share you website visit with them) you can do so at https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/
All purchases are performed offline, with no stored user data except for standard accounting purposes. You can not purchase a vehicle or any service plans through our website online.
Who we share your data with
We do not share your data with anyone, except as required by law – and this will require a subpoena / court order.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments and their e-mail address and IP address may be checked through an automated spam detection service. This is used for fraud prevention and spam protection which degrades our website service.
